How to measure a Shop5 store

Trackless is cookieless analytics. It stores no own measurement identifier or analytics cookies in the visitor's browser. Because this connection runs through a browser snippet, assess the legal basis, cookie banner and whether the snippet should be gated by consent against the full site setup. On Shop5, you paste the tracking snippet into the JavaScript head field of the store preferences and a short conversion code into the text the customer sees after sending an order. We verified the whole procedure on 2 October 2026 on our own trial store.

Step 1: Get your tracking snippet

Sign up at trackless.cz, log in and under My sites enter the store address, choose Shop5 as the platform and click Add site. You can also enter the default Shop5 store address in the form <number>.shop5.cz. Trackless will immediately show you the ready-made tracking snippet with your token; use Copy to grab it.

Step 2: Visits - the snippet in the JavaScript head field

In the Shop5 administration, open Nastavení > Předvolby (Settings > Preferences), find the Rozvržení (Layout) part and paste the tracking snippet from step 1 into the JavaScript head field (it looks like the example below, only with your token instead of VAS_MERICI_TOKEN). Keep whatever is already in the field. Then click Uložit změny (Save changes) in the same part.

The tracking snippet should be on the page only once. In the verified store it loaded from this field in the head of the home page and of the page shown after the order. You do not need the JavaScript body field for measurement; in the verified store it stayed empty.

Step 3: Orders - the conversion code in the text shown after the order

In the administration, open Obsah > HTML text (Content > HTML text) and choose Text po odeslání objednávky (Text after the order is sent). In the editor, click Upravit HTML zdroj (Edit HTML source), paste the code below unchanged at the end of the existing content and confirm with Aktualizovat (Update). Then save the text with Uložit změny (Save changes).

On the page shown after the order is sent, Shop5 replaces [%id%] with the order number, [%cena_s_dph%] with the order total including VAT and [%mena%] with the currency code. If the values are not valid, the code sends nothing. On save, the editor itself adds the type="text/javascript" attribute to the <script> tag and a CDATA comment; we verified the code with these changes. Trackless receives only the number, total and currency, no customer data.

Step 4: Verify a visit and one order

Open the store in a private browser window, browse a few pages and place one test order without a real payment. If the dashboard at trackless.cz says new data are waiting to be processed, you can process them right away with Recompute now. For revenue checks, set the Revenue filter to Incl. shipping and tick incl. VAT, because Shop5 sends the total order price. Compare the order number, total and currency with the order in the Shop5 administration. Then reload the page shown after the order: the order must stay in Trackless only once.

Compare the total with the price stored with the order, not with the sum in the checkout. In the verified store, an order with a discount coupon showed 338.80 CZK in the checkout, Shop5 stored it rounded to 339 CZK and Trackless received the same amount.

Limits, so you know what you are getting into

• This is browser-based measurement. Aggressive blocking of external measurement scripts, or a customer who never opens the page shown after the order, may cause some visits or orders to be missed.
• The code passes the order total including VAT and shipping, without a breakdown of VAT, shipping, discounts and line items. Revenue views excluding VAT or for products only cannot get a real breakdown from it, and Trackless will not learn about orders cancelled later. Orders sent before the code was added do not reach Trackless retroactively.
• The order is stored as browser_unverified: it appears in normal order, revenue and conversion analytics, but is excluded from billing and the pricing band.
• We verified the Czech version of the text after the order is sent, marked (cz) in the administration. We did not try other language versions of the store.
